Joel Klase (Youth Pastor)

Hi, my name is Joel Klase, and I have had the privilege of serving as the Assistant Pastor here at Bethany Bible Fellowship Church since September, 2012. This family of believers has been so welcoming and gracious to me, and I am very thankful to God for all of them. I was very blessed to have a godly influence in my life through my parents, grandparents, pastors, and church leaders ever since I was a child. I put my faith in Christ at a very young age and, after recommitting my life to Christ around the 6th grade, I have seen God work in great ways to shape and mature my walk with Him. I believe my gifts are teaching and serving, and I love putting them into practice whenever I can, especially in working with youth. Having grown up as a ‘church kid’ my whole life, it is my passion to help young people surrender themselves fully to Christ, and to live wholeheartedly for His glory. When I’m not busy hanging out with Students in our Youth Ministry, I enjoy watching movies with friends and family, playing sports like volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee, playing the piano or ukulele, and singing.

Kim Kucas

Kim (updated)Hi, my name is Kim Kucas, and I’m originally from Gettysburg & Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. I am a Certified Career & Technical Education Teacher from Pennsylvania State University. I came to Bethany Bible Fellowship Church around 2002. I gradually started working with the youth group just chaperoning various trips.  I enjoy working with teenagers from all walks of life. So it was fitting that I eventually became a full-fledged youth group leader. I enjoy listening to music, reading and being outdoors. I am married to a wonderful man and we have one son. Our family life is centered on God and my son’s farm animals. I was raised in a family with strong beliefs in God’s love and salvation. I can’t remember a time when God was not part of my life. Without God in our lives many things would not be possible. I love being a youth leader and watching teenagers come to know Christ and grow in their relationship with God. It is my prayer that our youth ministry at Bethany continues to grow and flourish as we reach out to the youth in our communities.

Doug Rutt

DougHi, my name is Doug Rutt and I have been serving as a volunteer youth leader at Bethany Bible Fellowship Church since 2002.  I’m originally from Lititz in Lancaster County PA.  I was blessed to have been raised by Christian parents in a home where attending church and reading the word of God was a regular part of life.  I was convicted of my sin and of my need for salvation by the Holy Spirit at a friend’s church one summer evening when I was 12 years old.  I accepted Jesus as my savior that night and my eternal destiny was changed.  Through  seasons of both rebellion and obedience to His will in my life, God has shown me His grace, His love, and His faithfulness over and over without fail.  Although I am a scientist by profession (I have a degree in pharmacology & toxicology), the Lord has seen fit to use me in ways I never would have imagined as a youth leader at Bethany BFC.  It is a tremendous joy, privilege, and blessing to be able to teach the students biblical truths and share the love of Jesus with them.  In my free time I enjoy following Philadelphia sports teams, listening to music, playing guitar, and reading.

Rebecca Armstrong

Hi, my name is Rebecca Armstrong, and I’ve been serving with the youth group since 2016. I am originally from the area but spent about five years in the Lehigh Valley before recently settling in Hatfield. I taught 7th grade Language Arts for almost four years but stopped when my first child was born. It took a little while to adjust to being a full-time homemaker, but now I love it. My husband and I have two little girls and enjoy (almost) every minute. I’ve been blessed to have grown up in a dedicated Christian home and, though I did not commit to following Jesus with my whole life until I was 15, I can see how the Lord has led me throughout my life to know Him more. It is exciting to be a part of the youth ministry at Bethany BFC and encourage others as the Lord leads them as well.
